Home Insurance Lyndhurst: Do Not Play With Your Home Insurance Or The FBI Might Get You
Home Insurance Lyndhurst: It happened to a woman from Ohio who conspired with her insurance agents to burn down her home and file a claim to get her home insurance refund. Unfortunately for her, the FBI revealed her plans and now she is arrested for conspiracy, using fire to commit a felony and maliciously destroying a building by fire.
The conclusion is: do not mess with your property insurance.
The insurance is there to help you get through difficult times, when your house is burned down or affected by various accidents. The insurance is not there as money deposit. You cannot use it at your will and you should not use it at your will.
In the US there have been numerous cases of people trying to “fool” the insurance system and get huge amounts of money as a result of their claims. However, very few (if one) managed to get through without being caught.
It is not the case of the Ohio woman. And, if you are living anywhere in Lyndhurst, Bloomfield, Nutley, Carlstadt, Meadowlands you should give up this thought in an instant.
A movie-like scene
The FBI agents began investigating the woman’s case after they received a report from the bank; the report highlighted suspicious activity from the insurance policy owner. This was in October last year.
As it turns out, the woman managed to withdraw more than $67,000, money which she divided between herself and the insurer.
In December 2012 a confidential informant told FBI about the woman’s arson plans. This is how the FBI managed to arrest the woman.
Almost one year after the event, the woman’s freedom is threatened by her being arrested; a trial will follow.
